Miyazaki's Posters Re-imagined

In today's movie market, taking an already developed and proven Intellectual Property (such as movie posters) from a foreign market and re-imagining them for a new audience, is quickly becoming a trend. The people at Crimson Daggers recently had challenged artists to do so, with the films of legendary Studio Ghibli co-founder and director, Hayao Miyazaki being the focus. Some of the resulting entries have been staggeringly impressive.

Check out some of them below. My favourites just has to be the 2nd Spirited Away and also the My Neigbor Totoro posters. More poster illustrations as well as information on the artists can be found on the mentioned website.

# Castle In The Sky (Tenku no shiro Rapyuta) [1986]

# My Neighbor Totoro (Tonari no Totoro) [1988]

# Nausicaa Of The Valley Of the Wind (Kaze no tani no Naushika) [1984] -1st

# Nausicaa Of The Valley Of the Wind (Kaze no tani no Naushika) [1984] -2nd

# Ponyo On The Cliff By The Sea (Gake no ue no Ponyo) [2008]

# Princess Mononoke (Mononoke-hime) [1997]

# Spirited Away (Sen to Chihiro no kamikakushi) [2001] -1st

# Spirited Away (Sen to Chihiro no kamikakushi) [2001] -2nd

  1. Wow, that's pretty awesome. I do like the second Spirited Away poster, as well as others.

  2. The ability to draw is a talent I envy in others, and yeah, these are great. Thanks for dropping by Lesya.
